Nature-Informed Therapy
As some of you may already know, I have expanded my therapeutic services to include Nature-Informed Therapy.
Nature-Informed Therapy is a form of counseling that integrates the healing qualities of the natural world into the therapeutic process. In my experience, bringing therapy goals into an outdoor setting can deepen, support, and amplify healing in meaningful ways.
I will be offering Nature-Informed Therapy sessions at at select locations in and around the area that are ADA compliant. These sessions are designed to provide a calm, restorative space where nature can support emotional processing, reflection, and overall well-being.

Why Nature-Informed Therapy?
Think back to a time when you felt immersed in nature—perhaps at the beach, in a garden, on a hiking trail, or during a quiet walk through a park. How did you feel emotionally afterward? For many people, the answer is calmer, lighter, clearer, and more grounded.
There is growing scientific support for what many of us already know intuitively: time in nature can have a powerful positive impact on mental health.
Research has shown that spending time in natural settings can help reduce stress, lower cortisol levels, ease feelings of overwhelm, and increase feelings of joy and emotional balance. Nature also offers opportunities for mindfulness, reflection, and nervous system regulation in a way that feels gentle and restorative.
Practices such as forest bathing, which originated in Japan, emphasize the importance of mindfully immersing oneself in the natural world. This intentional connection with nature has been associated with improved emotional well-being, mental clarity, and resilience.
Despite these well-known benefits, nature is often overlooked as a therapeutic resource in modern mental health care. In a culture that tends to prioritize pharmaceutical treatment and office-based talk therapy, we can sometimes forget that nature has long served as a source of healing throughout human history.
Nature-Informed Therapy offers an opportunity to reconnect with that wisdom.
A Different Way to Heal
Nature has an incredible ability to help us slow down, breathe more deeply, and reconnect with ourselves. It can provide perspective, grounding, and a sense of peace that is difficult to access in the rush of daily life.
By combining counseling with the restorative qualities of the natural world, Nature-Informed Therapy can support:
Stress reduction
Emotional regulation
Greater clarity and focus
Increased mindfulness and presence
Improved connection to self and surroundings
A deeper sense of calm and well-being
This work is not about replacing traditional therapy, but about expanding it—creating space for healing that is both clinically supportive and deeply rooted in the wisdom of the natural world.
